Palestinians mourn dead in Gaza as new protests begin

Protests are starting to pick up speed across the West Bank, CNN’s Kareem Khadder reports from the ground.

Several hundred Palestinians clashed with Israeli soldiers and police in Ramallah on Tuesday afternoon, close to the Beit El check point.

Israeli forces responded to Palestinians throwing stones with the use of tear gas and rubber bullets. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, four people were injured by rubber bullets north of Ramallah as of 3 p.m. local time.

Meanwhile, around 250 people held Palestinian flags in Bethlehem while marching towards an Israeli outpost. Around 200 meters from the outpost, the Israeli military and border police fired a volley of tear gas and rubber bullets, which forced protesters to disperse. Palestinian youths then began throwing stones and clashed with Israeli forces.  One AFP cameraman was hit by a rubber bullet in the back but was not seriously injured.

In Hebron, the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported two injuries, one from live ammunition to the shoulder and abdomen. The other was taken to hospital with tear gas inhalation.

There have also been clashes in the West Bank town of Nablus.
